Traditional shooting days for teams of four guns.

"A small shoot in the grand style"

The shoot is a mix of arable and grassland, thick hedgerows, gamecover plots  and  flight ponds which offer a diverse habitat for pheasant, snipe and duck.
The expected bag is around thirty head. On arrival guns are breakfasted in the shoot lodge before enjoying a mix of walk ups and small drives.
Beaters and pickers up are provided as is transport.  At the end of the day, the guns return to the shoot lodge to enjoy a two course dinner  with a glass or
two of wine or a refreshing beer. The cost per gun is £110.

This team enjoyed a good day's sport in October 2009 on a gloriously sunny day when the most essential sporting item was sunglasses

The shoot has eight flight ponds and does attract both  wild Teal and Mallard to complement the released duck.

The beaters, pickers up and guns sit down to enjoy a tasty meal.  On high days our resident Hugh Fearnley -Whittingstall (namely Roger) will delight the diners with one of his specials. His fish pie is to die for!

The shoot is keepered by Alan and his good friend Roger.  The beating and picking up team comprises members of their families as well as good friends.

The shoot is run to a high standard with all the traditions found on the grand estates.  We expect and maintain the highest standards of sportsmanship and want our visitors to enjoy their day.  Of course we want you to enjoy the actual shooting and we do everything we can to show the birds, but we also want you to enjoy the total experience: good company, good food and a day in harmony with fellow enthusiasts.
